The oldest known Maryland Sampler resides in Mount Clare Museum House in Baltimore, Maryland. The reproduction was stitched on 36 count linen. Stitches used are cross, Algerian eye, satin, stem, back, french knot, long and short, long-armed cross and random cross stitch. Colors are corals, tans, turquoise, greens, and gold.
